THE CHARM OF OLD FLORIDA – OAKLAND PARK
OAKLAND PARK, FLORIDA
Floridian charm with revitalization and upscale amenities, that's Oakland Park, located in Broward County!

Oakland Park City Hall
Originally named Floranada (a portmanteau of Florida and Canada), the town was forced into bankruptcy after the hurricane of 1926. When the town reincorporated, residents chose the name Oakland Park. As of the 2010 census, the population was 41,363, mainly due to annexation of North Andrews Gardens and Twin Lakes South. It is part of the Miami–Fort Lauderdale–Pompano Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area, which was home to 5,564,635 people according to the 2010 census.
The City of Oakland Park was inspired by small towns of the early twentieth century. Houses are close to the street to foster social interaction while creating picturesque streetscapes. The natural environment is integrated in a way that entices you to get out and enjoy life. It's designed with everything to connect you to the experiences and activities you want. Given its close proximity to Fort Lauderdale and Miami, there are many options to choose from.
Within the city, residents enjoy the healthy benefits of a walkable community. A simple walk through the downtown can lead to new friends and spontaneous activity. After all, that’s how small towns of the past developed a sense of belonging for citizens, fostering deep roots and strong ties.

Oakland Park Boundaries
The city borders the city of Wilton Manors, which is experiencing a tremendous amount of new development. Increased property prices in Wilton Manors have pushed up prices in Oakland Park and spurred interest in the city's downtown redevelopment plan.
Oakland Park has some great neighborhoods worth investing in, for example, Coral Heights. It’s very close to the downtown core of the city and minutes away from the shores of Fort Lauderdale’s most beautiful beaches. Coral Heights' residents enjoy the close proximity to Las Olas Boulevard and the neighboring city of Hollywood. No matter which neighborhood you choose, Oakland Park has many to offer - Here are the Top 10.
